Silicone in Architecture
Silicone Rubber has been used within the building industry for years as it offers far greater benefits than organic based elastomers. Its thermally stable and flexible from -50ºc to +250ºc, extremely resistant to ozone degradation and weathering, can be pigmented in any colour, including metallic finishes and has excellent physical strength.
Silicone Altimex manufactures a range of silicone extrusion profiles for architectural applications in a vast array of colours and our profiles can be seen adorning the faces of some of Europe’s most prestigious buildings.
Typical applications of silicone in architecture include both structural and non-structural silicone gaskets and decorative profiles.
